Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Police report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Officers then discovered multiple other marked cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say early analysis suggest the liquid was likely human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.
City officials said they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the community for tips.
An important representative commented the vandalism rendered him speechless and needed to be solved promptly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant targeting residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
